South Central Construction Announces Louisiana’s Best of 2009 Winners

Three H/S projects received recognition:
Fidelity Homestead Bank - Best Private Architecture
Consolidated Gravity Drainage District No.1 Office Building - Best Public Architecture
Saint Scholastica Academy Chapel - Award of Merit, Architecture

On September 29, 2009, South Central Construction magazine was pleased to announce the complete list of winners of its Best of 2009 awards program. The annual competition recognizes construction and design excellence from across Louisiana. An independent jury of industry experts judged numerous nominated projects in mid-September. Projects were eligible for the competition if they were 1) located in Louisiana, 2) completed in the past year, 3) did not have a construction-related fatality.

The jury awarded projects based on entry criteria including safety, innovation, contribution to the
community or industry, construction quality and craftsmanship, and function and aesthetic quality of design. The entries were sorted by project type. Each category has one “Best of” award winner and in some cases one or more Awards of Excellence and/or Awards of Merit.
