Colby Lute, Assoc. AIA

Emerging Professional

As a kid, Colby was always interested in construction. Being able to put together multiple materials to achieve something magnificent was eye opening for him. And in eighth grade, he was introduced to the idea of architecture and design.

Colby attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he really connected with what architecture could mean and all the possibilities it carries, not just creatively, but instinctively. While at ULL, he developed an interest in drafting, modeling, and welding. When ULL partnered with Habitat for Humanity, Colby worked on a team to construct the 1020house, a tiny home that was designed and built by design students to continue to help revitalize the northside of Lafayette.

After graduating in Spring 2019 with a Bachelors of Science, Colby joined Holly & Smith Architects where he is cultivating his drafting and modeling skills through various commercial and residential projects.

In his spare time, he enjoys reading crime-fiction novels and is a movie fanatic. He also enjoys traveling, fitness, and spending time with longtime friends.
