Kopfler Stables

Following their passion for horses, the Kopfler family commissioned a stable on their property, where H/S had designed their residence several years earlier. The facility includes six stalls, a tack room, a wash area, an office, storage areas, covered corral access, equipment storage, and a second-floor apartment for workers or guests.

Designed as a companion to the residence, the stable complements the home’s forms, materials, and structural elements. The two-story central form echoes the residence’s connecting spine and is topped with an arched metal roof, while heavy timber construction and similar balcony detailing reinforce the relationship between the two structures. The result is a functional equestrian facility that supports the family’s lifestyle while maintaining a cohesive architectural character across the property.
