Bailey Bayard, AIA, NCARB

Architect

When Bailey was young, he was always combining random objects with whatever he could find to make new things. He also spent time building with Legos and drawing. Crafting has always been important to him, though he didn’t realize he was truly interested in architecture until he reached college.

At UL Lafayette, he realized he had a passion for designing public spaces within his projects and understanding how buildings interact with the natural and urban landscape. While somewhat unorthodox for architecture school, he developed an interest in ensuring that all of his projects included thoughtful landscaping to enhance the spaces he was creating. Through school, he came to understand how architecture can impact many people’s lives and how good design plays an important role in creating meaningful places. While in graduate school, he worked on the Design-Build class’ House of Cards project, an artist retreat cabin in Arnaudville constructed of cast-in-place concrete.

Bailey graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science in 2020 and a Master of Architecture in 2021. After graduation, he joined Holly & Smith Architects and has since earned his architectural license.

In his spare time, he enjoys listening to music, learning about random historical events, growing plants, and watching movies.
