A. Nicholas Bourque, AIA, NCARB
Lafayette Studio Co-Director
After earning his Master of Architecture from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Nic started his career in the high-end residential sector. His first job in the architectural field allowed him to grow into a role as a project manager while enjoying the experience of designing heirloom-quality spaces for people to call home. Starting in 2015, he continued his passion for residential design while expanding his design resume into the commercial and biomedical realm under private practice.
These 20 years of experience in management, design, and planning have prepared Nic for his role as co-director of Holly & Smith Architects’ Lafayette Studio. As a part of the H/S team, Nic hopes to continue his exploration of how culturally appropriate architecture can influence everyday life through responsible design of private and public spaces.
When not practicing architecture, Nic enjoys spending time with his family and taking advantage of the unique South Louisiana landscape, climate, and culture. Paddling, hiking, gardening, cooking, and amateur beekeeping fill his time away from work.
