Adam Janney, Assoc. AIA

Emerging Professional

Adam has always been drawn to creative expression through design, exploring a variety of artistic outlets from an early age—many of which he continues to enjoy today. His interest in architecture began in high school through a civil engineering and architecture elective, where he was first introduced to the design process and began to see it as a potential career path.

At the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Adam further developed his understanding of architecture and its impact on people, while strengthening his design skills. Though the program was challenging, he found the experience deeply rewarding, pushing himself to continually refine and elevate his work. During graduate school, he served as a graduate assistant and instructor of record for an entry-level design course he had taken five years prior, an experience he found especially fulfilling.

After earning his Master’s degree, Adam relocated to New Orleans to join Holly & Smith Architects, where he continues to grow and expand his knowledge. Outside of the office, he enjoys playing guitar and drums or exploring the city.
