Richard Longman, AIA, PLA, ASLA, LEED AP BD+C

Architect

Richard has a diverse background as a licensed architect and landscape architect. With over 40 years of experience, he has worked on a variety of building types on a variety of scales. His experience includes projects throughout the United States, as well as France, England, and Australia.

With extensive management experience, Richard has led teams on multi-million-dollar projects from conception through construction completion. His first and smallest project was a chicken house for a historic plantation in Northeast Louisiana.

His interest peaks at the intersection of the built and natural environment. Richard believes that a symbolic relationship can exist between the built environment and the natural landscape through the employment of green infrastructure and nature-based solutions that enhance biodiversity and produce efficient, sustainable, resilient designs.

Richard enjoys watching NCAA and NFL sports, particularly LSU, the Saints, and the Cincinnati Bengals, respectively. As an avid reader, he prefers books on philosophy, history, architecture, and science. J B Jackson is one of his favorite authors for easy reading. As an avid video fan, Richard tends to watch those that focus on history or science fiction. For him, science fiction also tops all other topics in books and videos. Richard is married and has two sons, of whom he is immensely proud.
